Take me out to the ballgame...
Have y'all been to a NWA Naturals baseball game lately? Each time I go, I'm reminded of how much family-friendly, low-cost fun it offers for families! The Naturals play at Arvest Ballpark, Springdale, on the corner of Gene George Blvd. and Watkins Ave., across the street from the new Arkansas Children's Hospital Northwest. It is easily accessible from the Don Tyson exit on I-49.
The Naturals, a Minor League team, play 70 home games each year from April through September. There are ways to score discounts on tickets, and some of my favorite options include:
Monday Night home games: Ozarks Electric Cooperative customers will receive $5 Dugout Premium Tickets at the Arvest Ballpark Box Office.
Tuesdays: Arvest Bank customers will enjoy $5 Dugout Premium tickets.
Other days: Often local savings sites like LivingSocial or NWA DealPiggy have discounts on 4 pack tickets. Beyond ticket promotions, there are also food promotions on certain nights such as Buck-a-Brat, $1 hotdogs/fountain drinks/mozzarella sticks, as well as $2 peanuts/Pabst Blue Ribbon Drafts.
There are themed nights throughout the season, such as Star Wars, Superhero Night, Paw Patrol, and Faith and Family Night. See all of the Naturals promotions HERE.
There is a Kids Zone that has inflatable bounce houses (can buy one jump session or unlimited). You can also line up here for train rides around the concourse of the park.
If you attend a Friday night game, it is followed by a post-game fireworks spectacular, which I think, as the name implies, is spectacular! It's a great extra perk, because not only do you get a night of baseball entertainment with your ticket price, but also an impressive fireworks show to end the evening.
On Sunday home games, kids eat free: Kids 12 & under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, animal crackers, Swedish fish and 12 oz. soda as they enter the gates. Also, kids run the bases each Sunday post-game (except 6/17).
And.. I saved the best for last! The Naturals offers kids 12 and under the opportunity to join their Kid's Club. For free. I repeat, free. It includes 1b/3b Reserved ticket to FIVE (5) select Sunday home games: 4/29, 5/13, 6/17, 7/22, and 8/12, FIVE wristbands to the KC Royals Kids Zone (bounce houses), 10% discount in the Naturals Team Store during Sunday games, Kids Eat FREE at ALL Sunday Games & have the opportunity to run the bases post-game. Kids age 3 & under do not need tickets for the Naturals games as long as they sit on your lap.
