Bentonville Heart Lites: Must-See Animated Christmas Light Display

By Kara Ault, Macaroni Kid Rogers-Bentonville Publisher December 27, 2018

Located at 3505 NW Edgewood Ave in Bentonville, in the Highlands Park subdivision, Bentonville Heart Lights is a labor of love from the Valentine family to the residents of Northwest Arkansas. With almost 50,000 animated, musical Christmas lights, all computer controlled and synchronized to holiday music, this is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves the holidays. Each bulb can be individually controlled to produce millions of different colors, allowing them to make amazing patterns.  They also have a 30 foot tall light tree and a 20 foot tall tree as well as a singing Rudolph and a Mickey Mouse Wreath. You can find their Facebook page here.

Bentonville Heart Lights- "The Greatest Show" (The Greatest Showman)

The Valentine family- Mark, his wife Crystal, and their children, work on the display year-round to prepare for the holiday. This is their 5th year of putting on a display in a small neighborhood and they have grown the display each year.  Their primary purpose is to share the joy of the season through lights and music. They are part of a growing hobby that started in Australia and is spreading across the globe.  If you are interested in doing what they do, they are happy to share how they do it.

Bentonville Heart Lights is located at 3505 NW Edgewood Ave, Bentonville - north of Elm Tree Elementary in Highland Park subdivision at the corner of Elm Tree Road and NW 3rd Street.  The display is on each night from 5:30pm-9:30 pm (until 10:30pm on Fri & Sat).  They currently have 6 songs in rotation, 4 being Christmas songs, and two movie songs.

Please note, while the display is on every night of the week, you may want to consider going on Sunday through Thursday if you can.  Friday and Saturday nights have already seen car lines backed up over half a mile this season.  If you have family in from out of town and want to go on a Friday or Saturday night, get there as close to 5:30 as you can (starting time).

As you enter the subdivision, tune your car radio to 102.7 to listen to the lights (feel free to have a family sing-a-long).  They do have outdoor speakers so if traffic backs up, you can park at the ball fields next door to the subdivision and walk over to enjoy the lights (600 feet from parking to light display).

You can enjoy this display any evening from now until Dec 31, 2018. Please remember that this is part of a subdivision- please park single file along the curb, not in front of driveways and not double-parked in the street or in front of the island. If a resident flashes trying to get by, please move. Residents of the subdivision have priority.

Macaroni Kid wishes to thank the Valentine family for this labor of love for the people of NW Arkansas.
